Suddenly, I realised that I have been so occupied with office work, freelance work, travelling, shopping, eating, tv watching etc, until I have totally forgotten about a hobby that I started a couple of years ago - beading and jewelry making!

I have not touched for a year those boxes of stones and beads, including a collection of precious Swarovski Crystal beads that I bought online. Those expensive books on beading, hehe, are collecting dust in the bookshelves…

I have become a bead collector, rather than a bead jewelry hobbyist. :P

*Sigh* That just show how “hectic” my life is.

Another reason, I think, that has kept me from doing beading crafts is my deteriorating eyesight - my hyperopia seems to get worse these days (psss, after I started this current job of mine)!

Err, actually I can wear my glasses, right? Hehe.

Well, may be I should start picking up this hobby again; at least make use of all the beads I have (stock clearance!), so that they will end up as beautiful jewelry pieces and not just beads.

When I was staying at my mom’s place last week, I wore my wedding band day and night, during shower, while washing dishes, etc. There didn’t seem to be a ’safe’ place for me to put my ring. I mean, it’s not my house, so I would rather have it on my finger all the time. ;P

But because of that, I now have a ring mark around my ring finger. A ‘natural’ ring, haha!

Actually, the skin in that area was irritated, slightly itchy, and has become scaly.

This happened once, when I first wore the ring just after I got married, when I wore it every minute and second and didn’t want to take it off. Haha!

My ring is white gold. I don’t know whether rings made from other types of metal, such as titanium rings, will cause the same problem or not.

If scientifically speaking, then I presume it’s because the skin didn’t get the chance to ‘breathe’, coz all the debris from soap, detergent, sweat or whatever got trapped between the ring and the skin, eventually leading to skin irritation.

But once I routinely took off the ring off as soon as I get home from outside,  the problem resolved on its own within a few days’ time.

As far as I have lived, I’m not sensitive or allergic against metal such as gold or silver. And I look forward to a new gold and diamond ring in a few months’ time, hehe…

Besides Valentine’s Day, Christmas’ eve and Christmas day are also very romantic times to pop THE question. :) Furthermore, it’s easy for you guys to remember in case you tend to forget all sorts of anniversary dates, hehe.
