10 days to Chinese New Year. Am relieved that my shopping list is getting shorter now. :P This week will be my last week of CNY shopping. Not that there’s nothing else I want to buy, just that it’s about time to give my wallet a break! I could have afforded to spend more if I was some successful business woman with a vending machine business. Ha!

I have not done anything to my hair though. Not going for a hair cut because all hair salons would have increased their charges by now. But I do intend to dye my hair at home. Bought a bubble hair dye from Liese last week, hopefully I have time to get my hair color done this week. My girlfriend who bought the hair dye at the same time as me had tried it.

According to her, the bubble hair dye is so easy to use, very convenient. The hair color is quite even, no need to worry about patches of uneven hair color, haha! The only thing is that the color won’t be as apparent as one got it done in a hair salon.

That’s fine by me. I don’t want my hair color to undergo a drastic change anyway. The last time I dyed my hair, I was so shocked with the outcome - my head was fiery red! But hubby said I looked younger and modern with red hair. So I felt better, haha!

After all the shopping and hair dyeing tasks are done this weekend, spring cleaning shall start!

Jeez, my hair smells. I was in a cafe just now and the smell of food is all over my hair now. Oh well, might as well exercise and get sweaty later, since I need to wash my hair.

I have been washing hair on alternate days, because I fear that washing my hair too frequently will make my hair loss problem worse. It’s really eerie to see lots of hair on the floor every time I take my shower.

But may be I should wash my hair every day after all, because the hair stylist I went to last month told me that oily scalp is one of the reasons that cause hair loss, because the oil will cause the hair follicle to clog, and cause the root of the hair to weaken.

So one of the ways to prevent hair loss is to ensure that the scalp is clean and not oily. To do that, I have to wash hair every day. And when I tried to wash my hair consecutively for 3 days, I noticed that the amount of hair on the floor got lesser. I didn’t stick to washing hair every day because sometimes I’m just too tired, or sometimes the water is too chilly. :P

But I think I should start washing my hair daily. This is the only way to prevent the condition from progressing into a serious hair loss problem.

If you have very serious hair loss problem, that balding sign starts to appear, then you will need special hair loss treatment. You can click here to check out some of the popular treatments for hair loss and to regrow hair.

Really, a nice-looking, healthy hair can make a difference in a person’s image.

Well, I’m not exactly a red-headed woman like one of those Japanese F1 girls. :P

There’s just some shades of red on my hair, really bright when seen under the light. Otherwise, the hair will just look brownish with some red hues.

I got my hair done at Derrick & Team. The shop is located right outside of Carrefour at Midvalley. Hair color + hair cut + hair treatment cost me RM360! But it’s okay, I bet the price would be more exorbitant at A Cut Above or Jantzen. In addition, I don’t cut my hair often. Only two times a year, haha!

But I think I will ‘invest’ more in hair care from now onwards. I plan to go to Derrick & Team again next week to do a treatment for the hair cuticle, mainly to address my hair shedding problem. :(

I’m quite happy with the service at D&T. Hubby has also been going to its outlet in the Mines shopping mall for his monthly hair cut and the cuticle treatment. Hair loss problem, too. Hehe…

I think it would be better to stick to the same hair stylist, so that he keeps track of my hair problem and knows how to deal with it, and also has a better idea of what hair style suits me the best.

Oh well, it’s high time to give my thousands of tresses some tender loving care.

Hubby has quite a lot of white hair. They are not obvious if he puts on hair cream. But after shower, those white hairs just pop out from everywhere.

Hubby said, “Well, having white hair is better than no hair.” So he never care much about his white hair, never thought of getting his hair dyed.

Two weeks ago, hubby went for his haircut. The barber told him that he had less hair on the crown compared to the sides of his head, and suggested him to start using hair tonic.

Hubby doesn’t mind about white hair, or wrinkles, or even a slightly flabby stomach. But getting bald is the No.1 in his list of Things-to-Fear. The idea of getting bald at this age really scares the hell out of him, haha!

Suddenly, hubby got so keen to know about hair loss treatment for men. last week, he bought two bottles of hair tonic, as suggested by the barber, to help prevent hair loss and promote hair growth.

Now he spends additional 10 minutes in the shower every night, to massage his scalp with the tonic after he washes and towel dries his hair.

I think I will want to try to use the hair tonic too, hehe. I’m losing a lot of hair as well. If fallen hair can be donated for whatever purposes, I would certainly become one of the top donors. Haha!

I was shocked when I first found a couple strands of white hair on my head. I didn’t do much about it though. I didn’t even bother to get my hair dyed or whatever. Actually, I was too busy to worry about making money than to worry about white hair. Haha!

But it seems that more and more white hair is shooting out. Eeeks! It’s quite disturbing you know. Looks like I have to get a hair dyeing session or something soon. But before that, I think I’m going to try this supplement from VitaHealth.

A 50 over year old friend I met during last weekend’s gathering recommended this product from VitaHealth called Crowning Glory, meant for promoting strong, healthy hair. This friend used to have a lot of white hair (of course, she’s already 50 plus). But after taking Crowning Glory for a couple of months, she managed to cut down her hair dyeing frequency from every 2 months to only twice a year! And her new hair was no longer white, but have a certain level of brown to greyish color. I think this amazing! This is a more natural way to regain the color and health of your hair, rather than putting on chemicals to color it.

Yeah, may be I should look for this supplement when I go to the pharmacy tonight.

Follow Me Green Tea Revitalizer Shampoo

Follow Me Green Tea Revitalizer Shampoo
Loaded with Wheat Protein and Grape Seed extracts to provide maximum moisture, hydration, replenishment and revitalization for dry, damaged, chemically processed hair. Mild fragrant.

I’m putting this photo of Follow Me Green Tea Revitalizer Shampoo here is because - this is the first time I felt that Follow Me shampoo is good! ;P

Before this, I had never tried any shampoo from Follow Me. My preferred brands have always been Pantene, Sunsilk and Clear, simply because my hair don’t get tangled up after washing with their shampoos. Besides them, I didn’t really have confidence in other brands of shampoos.

Recently, however, as I ran out of hair shampoo while staying at my mom’s, I had no choice but to use whatever I could find in the bathroom. And I was surprised by how my hair turned out soft after washing with Follow Me Green Tea Revitalizer Shampoo! My hair was also easy to manage and comb the next morning even though I didn’t comb it right after washing the night before. :D

I’m not the only person amazed by this Green Tea shampoo that also contains wheat protein and grape seed extracts, even my sister (the one who just got married) agreed to my ‘testimonial’. Well, this doesn’t happen very often, as she is one fussy person who is very selective on all her personal care items. :P

However, my mom didn’t feel the same. She said her head itched after using the shampoo. Haha!

I think I will give this shampoo another few try since I’m staying at my mom’s these few days. If it continues to treat my hair nice, I might just replace my current shampoo brand with Follow Me Green Tea Revitalizer Shampoo.

I don’t know how to handle my tresses. Although if you ask me what type of hair I have and I will tell you I have straight hair, they are not entirely straight. They tend to curl at the end when it gets to a certain length, AND without a sense of direction.

My hair on the left side tends to curl inwards, while the right side outwards. All the hairstylists that I’ve been to told me that my hair is born this way and there is no hope of changing it, unless I perm my hair to make the scruffiness looks less obvious (since curls are supposed to go in all directions, haha!).

But I don’t like to perm hair because I hate:
• Sitting there for hours
• Smelling in all the chemicals
• And the high possibility of seeing a disastrous result in the mirror, haha!

I figure the next best thing I can do is to get myself a Philip hair multi-styler! With this, I can have unlimited versatility in hair styling (ahem, as if I know how to do it). I can create different types of curls without having to perm my hair, or make my hair absolutely straight for just one evening.

Philips Multistyler HP4698

Philip Salon Multistylist 10 in 1

  • Comes with an assortment of unique hair styling attachments
  • Can create: straight and sleek, srimps for added texture, sarge voluminous curls and waves, soft silky curls, spiral curls, tight curls, textured waves, triangular twists

I saw something similar in an electrical shop two weeks ago. It was priced at RM190, but I probably can get it at a cheaper price since hubby knows the shop owner, hehe. Hopefully wit this hair-styling device, my tresses can go from hideous to fabulous. ;)
