Do I need body lotion with SPF?

Ever since I came back to KL, I noticed my face and arms to become darker. I wonder if the sun in KL was more ferocious than the sun in Penang? :P

Actually I know why this happened.

First of all, I have stopped using my Olay White Radiance night cream because I am currently using Biotherm Aqua Gel for skin hydration. Guess I have to switch back to Olay White Radiance night cream very soon, so that damage can be repaired before it gets worse!

Secondly, I’m now staying in a landed house. The sun shin drops right at my front door in the morning. I can’t avoid going out because I have to hang up my washed clothes. And when we go out during daytime on the weekends, I have to stand under the sun to open the gate for hubby to drive his car out. In short, more exposure to the sun light now! Nothing that I can do about this until we have our automated gate installed. (Don’t know when!)

What I can do is to make sure every morning I apply my Nivea Body UV Protection Lotion before I go out of the house, even if it’s for a short while. The only problem with this Nivea Body UV Protection lotion is - the lotion has only UVA/UVB filters and Iso-Protectine. No SPF is indicated. The labels says it can prevent skin darkening and premature skin aging though.

Iso-Protectine

A nature-derived anti-oxidant that works dynamically inside your skin’s deeper layers, boosting your skin’s own protection system to help prevent premature skin aging and make it 3 times more resistant to the most damaging stress factors, such as pollution, smoke and UV rays.

I’m just wondering if this lotion will actually help since there is no SPF.
