We probably have had received many party invitations and been to many of them - birthday parties, wedding parties, engagement parties, baby shower parties, etc. But I doubt we will ever get something special like the Kentucky Derby Party Invitations here.
A Kentucky Derby party is not any ordinary party. Kentucky Derby itself is a annual Grade I stakes race held in Louisville, Kentucky since 1875. This event takes place on the first Saturday of May, capping a 2-week long Kentucky Derby festival. All the people of Louisville will take this opportunity to throw parties as a way to celebrate the more than one-century-old tradition.
And if you were invited to one of these parties, there’s one thing that you MUST wear to those parties - a big Kentucky Derby hat! You know, hats elaborated with big flowers, feathers, ribbons and laces? Look at some of these hats from Lady Diane, aren’t they sweet and elegant? These are hats that can be worn to garden parties, too.
Despite knowing that I will never have the chance to attend a Kentucky Derby party or something like it (who am I to be invited to such occasions, anyway), I still wish that someday I could own one of these lovely hats, even if it means keeping the hat in my wardrobe and not wearing it, like for the rest of my life.
