Olay White Radiance Night Whitening Cream

February 27th, 2008

I went for a short holiday at Langkawi Island last month. Although it was not a typical beach holiday that I dreamed it to be, i.e. sun-bathing on the sand or frolicking in the water (in a bikini perhaps), I still find myself slightly tanned on my hands and legs, and my face was at least one tone darker.

When my face still didn’t look any brighter 2 weeks post-holiday, I decided to get a whitening product for night use. Since I have used Olay White Radiance Intensive Whitening Lotion (SPF24) and like it, I figured I could try its Night Whitening Cream from the same range.

Olay White Radiance Night Whitening Cream

  • Vitamin B3 provides cellular energy for skin to enhance skin’s renewal process.
  • Olay Whitening Complex (vitamin B3, mulberry extracts, vitamin C) actively reduces spots and evens out skin tone while you sleep.
  • Multiple vitamins and rich moisturizing mixture to efficiently achieve better texture, clarity and glowing radiance for your skin.

At first I was quite concerned whether the cream would be too heavy for my skin. To my surprise, after using it for several weeks, it’s actually less greasy than I thought, and I didn’t find myself wake up with a shiny face. The cream is easily applied evenly over the face, and it actually does what it promises to “…achieve better texture, clarity and glowing radiance…”.

After using the night cream for about a week or so, I could already see that my skin tone was brighter than before. And now I’m using it on my neck as well.

I wonder if I should also slap the cream on my arms and see if it works there too…. ;P

Is it time to let it go?

    January 11th, 2016

Exactly 4 weeks to Chinese New Year. Wow, another fun festive celebration is waiting around the corner! :D

Well, that also means it’s time for spring cleaning. Bleh. The not-so-fun part about CNY.

We have so many things in the house to get rid of, either to recycle, donate or simply discard. But it’s not easy to do that some times. There are many things that no longer serve us, but we just want to hold on and are unwilling to let go.

For instance, my violin. It’s not an expensive instrument that I bought, but it’s my one and only one! I don’t practice with it anymore (since more than a decade ago). One of the strings snapped and I ‘keep forgetting’ to send it for mending and tuning.

Read this – keep forgetting. If you keep forgetting about something, be it an object or a task, is it enough to say that you don’t give a damn about that something anymore? :P

Okay, if I could find a music instrument store in my living vicinity, perhaps I will give the violin another chance to sing again, once more. Haha!

Err, but wait, where is the violin? Where have I kept it? Is it here in MY house, or is it kept back in my parents’….

      My Attila, my baby

      January 11th, 2016

Hubby has moved to a new company last December, and he has been busier than ever. We are often away for almost 14 hours from morning till night during working days.

While we human beings are out and about doing our own things, my poor Attila stays at home (well, he’s actually free to move around in the front yard) and waits patiently for his daddy and mommy to come home from work.

Every time we reach home, he will be so excited in greeting us, and just can’t stop jumping on his daddy and throwing his passionate ‘kisses’ to him (actually more like putting his mouth over my husband’s hands). Because daddy is Attila’s No. 1 Lover. I’m only No.2. He never greets me in such a passionate way, unless I’m the only one at the door. :P

Sometimes we felt sorry for him, that he has to wait for us. It’s good that we have installed a retractable canopy and installed a wall fan, so we know that he will be protected from the sun and rain while we are at not at home. And we are proud that Attila is able to sit and stay and watch us leave without a fuss. It did take some treats and training to get him used to this routine, but Attila learned it quite fast.

Another 3 months down the road, it will be Attila’s 2nd birthday.  I hope he will get smarter every day, and not more stubborn! :P

It’s a brand new year again

        January 11th, 2016

Holiday and festive seasons had just passed by in a jiffy! What I had I done over the two long weekends? Nothing but sleep, eat, and more sleep and eat. :P

It only struck me on the second day of the new year that I had not set any resolution or goals for this year!

Oh well, it’s not too late to list down my 2016 resolutions yet. So, I have decided to embark on just a few small plans:

        1. To quit my job and return to school and study full time in pastry and bakery arts for 3 months.

        2. To have a beach holiday at a neighbouring island that I have never been before.

        3. To start my home pastry business, which is in fact a long-overdue plan.

        4. To pick up a new skill, which is……. martial art! Partly for fitness, partly for self-defence. I haven’t decided which form to learn yet though. Chinese Kung Fu, may be? Haha!

        5. To end my year counting down to Christmas or New Year out of this country! Could be in one of the cities in Japan… or Australia… or Taiwan… or Paris?! :D

Just 5 items on the list. If I could accomplish all of them, it will be definitely a great 2016 for me.

          Christmas in the office

          December 20th, 2015

December is the busiest period of the year for my department! This is the time we need to rush to make sure every order is delivered before the year draws to a close. It is a very stressful period.

However, things are not too bad, if you consider that we get to listen to some merry tunes of Christmas songs in the office (played by the building management), and that we will have a company Christmas buffet lunch at one of the most luxurious hotels in the city. Following the lunch, there will also be a ‘gift-opening session’ back in the office.

The gifting session is mainly for fun. We don’t have to give expensive items. I know Rass, the designer who plays guitar, would really appreciate a KRK studio monitor/speaker for his home music room. But I shall leave that special and costly gift for his wife to get him. Haha!

May be a Star Wars poster from me will be enough to make him jump up and down the whole day. :D
